Between June 10th & June 17th  over a dozen Rochester Rotarians visited the nine grade schools in Rochester distributing books to all of the first and second graders in the city.  The theme chosen this summer by the Rochester Library was Pirates.  Rotarians visited the schools clad in bandanas, with eye patches & a parrot on Officer Miehle’s shoulder.  They read “How I Became a Pirate” at several schools and encouraged the students to read over the summer.  Individual Rotarians discussed the importance of reading, as well as their own struggles or love of reading. Thank you to all that participated in the program.
